Erykah Badu and The Alchemist bring the Luv Iz… tour on the road this fall, premiering their new album Abi & Alan live on stage before its digital release later in 2025.

Erykah Badu and The Alchemist are out on the road together for the Luv Iz… tour, a run that doubles as the exclusive premiere of their collaborative album Abi & Alan. Instead of arriving first on DSPs, the project is debuting live—turning each show into a listening party and marking a rare rollout in today’s industry.
For Badu, Abi & Alan is her first album in 15 years since 2010’s New Amerykah, Part Two: Return of the Ankh and her first project of any kind since 2015’s But You Caint Use My Phone. For The Alchemist, the record marks his first non-rap entry in a long list of collaborative projects. The album was hinted at in late 2024, confirmed in her Billboard Women in Music cover story this March, and previewed by the June release of its lead single, “Next to You,” which flips the instrumental from Mobb Deep’s “The Realest.”
Early shows have already sparked heavy praise. Fans in Charlotte called it the “best live show ever,” with Badu and ALC’s transitions described as “insane” and the live band getting special mentions for keys and drum programming. Another attendee said, “Abi & Alan did not disappoint… completely captivated from start to finish,” while others in Orlando and Charlotte called it “the best concert I’ve been to this year” and “worth every moment.” Delays to stage times were noted, but even those reviews still labeled the experience unforgettable.

The Luv Iz… tour is currently underway, with stops in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and Los Angeles among its major dates. It runs alongside Badu’s Mama’s Gun ’25: The Return of Automatic Slim tour, which continues across North America and Europe through the end of the year.
