Voision XI

Voision Xi – Muse (for Joyce) [Amber Navran Remix]: Single Review

Staff, February 16, 2026February 16, 2026

Amber Navran flips Voision Xi’s dedication to her late grandmother into a dreamy, dusk-level neo-soul groove.

Voision Xi taps Amber Navran for “Muse (for Joyce) [Amber Navran Remix]“, a new coat on a song written for her late grandmother, Joyce. That initial snap from the beat immediately pulls you into its hazy and dreamlike flow. And I really love the subtle chopped chant guiding the headnod rhythm. It’s a beautiful new layer on a song that clearly meant so much to Xi, and you can really feel Navran‘s touch. Airtight drum chops snap the air while little bursts of Rhodes keys sparkle through. And then a flute line just floats in, holds its breath for a second, before the whole thing gently loops back around.

Voision’s voice is front and center, all soft edges and crystal-clear words. But then in the chorus, something shifts. Her vowels open up wide, she clips the ends just so, and suddenly the sound just swells, filling the entire space with warmth. The heart of the song shines through in lines like: “Muse is the wind when I dance with the trees / Muse’s the speed I need to read in / Muse is the wonder I wanna keep in the sea.” It’s about finding fuel in movement and in nature while it’s all delivered with a calm, grounded focus.

The second half leans playful—“Hear an elf by counting leaves / Sing a joyful bonsai spring”—then rides out on swing and air. A promo clip that the Shanghai-based jazz vocalist posted on her IG carries the same soft focus: Xi steps through hard stage light, red hair cutting through the dark as she meets a veiled figure at center frame. Amber Navran keeps the drum chops hitting with rap-room bite while the Rhodes and flute keep the late-set float, so hip-hop heads and heady jazz lovers land on the same nod.
