Nikki Russell — Red Lipstick (Silvastone Remix): Single Review

Staff, January 29, 2026January 29, 2026

A pep-talk hook riding Afro-swing bounce, with a feature that plays hype man clean and still keeps her center stage.

Nikki Russell steps in calm on this “Red Lipstick” remix – steady, and sure of herself, voice sitting pretty up front with no need to beg for approval. The hook lands quick and stays useful: “Baby, you are beautiful no matter what they say / All this hate around us keeps making us insane.” It reads like a little mirror-check you can carry with you, soft on the ears and firm in the message.

The remix gives that message legs and lets it travel. A crisp, woody click keeps tapping the spine, shakers sit tight on the grid, and those side-step organ chops keep nudging the groove forward so her lines can breathe while everything still moves. The top stays bright, the middle stays clean, and the whole blend is set up so her vocal stays the headline even when the percussion starts getting busy and bubbly.

That’s where Silvastone fits, and he plays his position proper. He pulls up as a rhythmic counterweight — “Yo, yo, yo, girl, you got me interested / Come on let me invest it” — flirty, supportive, timed like a quick handoff, then he clears the lane so the hook can keep doing its job. The writing keeps circling self-esteem as something you rebuild in real time, a daily re-up, and the repetition makes that point stick without raising its voice.

The cover sells the same idea in one glance — red lips, hard shine, camera-ready confidence, zero apology. The remix feels ready for daytime playlists and night drives alike, with enough swing to catch a little two-step and still feel sweet when it spins back around.
